SODEN Develops In-House Gateway and Local EMS for Grid-Scale and Distributed Battery Storage Facilities

SODEN Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Rui Iino; hereinafter "SODEN"), a VPP startup, has developed in-house a gateway and local EMS (Energy Management System) that support the market operation of grid-scale and distributed battery storage facilities.

The newly developed gateway and local EMS relay commands from SODEN's proprietary VPP cloud to each storage facility and control on-site equipment such as PCS (Power Conditioning Systems) and BMS (Battery Management Systems). This establishes a system platform that provides integrated control and management from the VPP cloud through to on-site equipment.

From autumn 2026 onward, SODEN plans to roll them out progressively across the grid-scale and distributed battery storage facilities it develops.
